Hi, I'm John — Nice to Meet You
I started freelancing back in 2017 while still in university. What began as a side hustle quickly turned into a full-time career, and today I run my web design practice independently while collaborating with agencies and small business owners around the world.
Over the years, I've worked with everyone from local clinics and contractors to international agencies serving the US, Canada, Australia, and beyond. The common thread? Clients who need a website that works hard for their business — not just looks pretty in a portfolio.
I specialize in WordPress because it's the honest answer for most small businesses: a CMS they can edit themselves, hosting they can choose, and a build I can hand over cleanly without locking them into a forever retainer.
The John Lamigo Difference
Six reasons clients keep coming back, and refer their friends.
Always On Time
I keep one project in flight at a time and send updates without being asked. You'll never have to chase me down for a status update.
Hand-Coded Quality
I write the templates myself. No bloated page builders, no farmed-out development. Just clean, fast, semantic code.
SEO-Ready Out of the Box
Schema markup, Core Web Vitals, semantic structure, and indexability — all baked in from day one, not bolted on later.
Honest Pricing
Fixed-scope quotes for builds with a clear brief. Day rate for ongoing work. No surprise invoices, no scope creep games.
Easy CMS Handover
Your site has to outlive the project. I hand over a clean editor and a walkthrough video so your team can update it.
No Retainer Required
Monthly maintenance is optional, not mandatory. I don't lock anyone into a contract just to keep their site online.
From Student Freelancer to Independent Pro
A quick timeline of how I got here.
Started Freelancing
Took on my first paying clients while still finishing university. Mostly WordPress builds for local Philippine businesses, then quickly expanded internationally.
Junior Web Designer at Agency
Joined an agency working on media and finance clients. Learned to ship on tight deadlines and read briefs that weren't written by designers.
Senior Web Designer
Promoted to senior. Led full builds end-to-end, ran scope discussions, wrote estimates, and mentored junior designers on the team.
Back to Full-Time Freelance
Left the agency to work directly with clients. Set up my practice under DigiSyn for larger projects that need a small team.
Independent & Available
Working solo or as the design+build half of a team. Mostly serving North America and Australia, with occasional projects in Europe. Currently taking on new projects this quarter.

Don't Just Take My Word For It
Here's what some of my favorite clients have to say.
John is the rare developer who actually sweats the details I care about. Pages load fast, the CMS makes sense, and the work ships on time.
Clean code, great instincts on layout, and he asks the right questions before he opens an editor. Highly recommended for any web project.
Sharp, fast, and easy to brief. The kind of contractor you keep on a shortlist for any project that absolutely needs to be done right.
